Terminology: your church's own words
Every church has its own way of saying things. Maybe your small groups are cells, life groups or home groups; maybe you welcome guests rather than visitors, or your locations are campuses. Under Settings → Terminology, an administrator can replace these default terms, and HolyCRM uses your words everywhere: the menu, the screens, buttons and messages.
What you can rename
Section titled “What you can rename”| Term | Default |
|---|---|
| Small groups | small group / small groups |
| Visitors | visitor / visitors |
| Ministries | ministry / ministries |
| Locations | location / locations |
How to change a term
Section titled “How to change a term”- Go to Settings → Terminology.
- Pick the Language you’re setting the words for.
- Type the Singular and Plural, for example Cell and Cells. Or pick one from Common choices to fill them in with one click.
- In Spanish and Portuguese, also choose the Gender of the word. It sets the words around it, so the app says “Nueva célula” but “Nuevo grupo”.
- Check the example under each term, then press Save. The app reloads with your words.
Leave a term blank to keep the default. Restore defaults clears every term for the language you’re looking at; nothing changes until you press Save.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The words apply to everyone in your church who uses HolyCRM in that language. If your church uses more than one language, set the words for each one.
- Only administrators can change them.
- Words can use letters, numbers, spaces, “.” and “-”, up to 40 characters.
- Your public website, links page and emails still use the default terms for now.
